Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Professional Intern - Logistics Analyst
to support a strategic wholesale parts distribution project. The successful
candidate will assist in analyzing current processes, coordinating data related
to inventory and suppliers, mapping distribution workflows, and supporting the
implementation of improved logistics and fulfillment solutions.
This role is ideal for a student looking to gain hands-on
experience in supply chain operations, distribution strategy, demand planning,
and project-based supply chain optimization.
Professional Interns have been an integral part of Birchwood
for over 25 years. The professional intern program has evolved to include an
immersive experience that focuses on personal and professional development. Our

Key Responsibilities
Data &
Process Analysis
- Collect and analyze data related to inventory levels,
part categories, lead times, supplier performance, and historical demand.
- Assist in mapping current-state distribution and
order fulfillment processes.
- Identify inefficiencies and support recommendations
for process improvements.
Logistics
& Distribution Support
- Help evaluate potential distribution models (e.g.,
centralized vs. regional distribution).
- Support the development of routing, replenishment,
and storage strategies.
- Assist with vendor comparisons, cost analysis, and service level assessments.
Qualifications
•
Currently enrolled in post-secondary education
in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Business Analytics, or Supply Chain
Management
•
Ability to analyze data and identify trends
that result in relevant recommendations
•
Experience in business analytics preferred,
but not required
•
Ability to thrive in a collaborative
environment
•
High attention to detail, with proven time
management and organizational skills
•
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel,
and other applications
• Experience with querying data and a working knowledge of Power BI considered an asset, but not required
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle to get to/from work
