Service Production Coordinator

Reporting Relationship: This position reports directly to the Service Manager

Job Summary

The Service Production Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of work within Birchwood Chevrolet Buick GMC Service Department. This position oversees technician productivity and workflow by assigning repair orders based on each technician’s skillset, availability, and job priority. Working closely with the Service Manager and Advisors, to ensure that work is distributed evenly, jobs are completed efficiently, and billed hours align with performance targets.

In this role, you will monitor daily operations on the shop floor, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and help maximize both productivity and customer satisfaction. You will also track key performance metrics such as efficiency, proficiency, and turnaround time, maintaining accurate records within the dealership management system. Acting as the central communication point between Service Advisors, Technicians, and Management, the Service Production Coordinator supports continuous improvement in workflow, scheduling, and overall shop performance.

Qualifications

· Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a service, repair, or production coordination role within the automotive industry.

· Strong understanding of repair order flow, technician dispatching, and productivity management.

· Proven organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency in dealership management systems and MS Office applications.

· Leadership experience or supervisory background considered an asset.
